hello, UBC.

So if I had time for a real entry, I'd make one.

Tonight we all tried to head down to the beach, but were thwarted by the po-pos. Wandered around Vanier in search of the party that was never to be, just like last night and the many other wandering groups of people, but then I got to talking to a bunch of my housemates in the basement, and they're really cool people. I live with students from Malaysia, China, Austria, there are 3 Turkish guys on my floor, a Singaporean, a Texan girl (whose dad is an astronaut and flies missions and everything!) and much more. My RA is from Surrey, as well as not one, but two, other Davids who are also from Surrey. Anyway, I was talking to the Texan, Singaporean and a guy from Philadelphia, who has awesome taste in music and will seek out all-ages shows with me. I feel so knowledgeable about my city of Vancouver, since I am the resident expert on shows/restaurants/transportation/weather/geography/you name it. Tomorrow, I show the afore mentioned girls (Lizyanne, something?), and three awesome girls from Calgary (Laura, Sarah, Jen) around my city, and now I see that the Pink Mountaintops and P:ano are playing downtown for free! I will have to see what I can do. Things are tight...I had a one hour nap this afternoon and that was my one time of rest. Soon = pictures of my room, but not too soon, I'm busy. Tomorrow will be another day! I have been wishing that this could go one for another week without the beginning of classes, but alas. I continue to hear good things about our first day orientation, although I am un-keen and skeptical. Tonight ended with hanging out at Alex's place in Gage (fantastic view of the city) and walking back with the Calgarians. More later, more later. Now, I find out there is a block party in Victory Square, free, complete with P:ano and The Pink Mountaintops. I don't think I can ask for more, except for a working desk lamp. I am overjoyed that this is, by far, my biggest complaint so far, and it's only remained a problem because I have no time to walk 30 seconds out the door and get it exchanged. The one thing that I am concerned constantly about is an awful occurance that when I first heard about it, I thought was an awful, awful joke. I'm glad that it seems as though things are better now, though. Good night, people.

Ok, turned out to be an okay amount of information I suppose. Not the complete visual package, but now, to sleep.

"but were thwarted by the po-pos."

Haha, I said "po-pos" too. Too bad they got all fussy about the beach, really.
